CMSG-RS · Critical-minerals supplier governance

Turn supply-chain exposure into decisions you can defend.

Highbrow Group is developing public-source mineral supply-chain research for U.S. manufacturers: mineral-specific company profiles, evidenced upstream connections and transparent peer benchmarks to support further due diligence.

THE OPERATING GAP

Public information needs context before it becomes evidence.

A policy, a smelter list and an assessment statement answer different questions. A useful comparison preserves the entity, mineral, period, source and uncertainty behind each claim.

CMSG-RS is being developed to make those distinctions visible and support focused follow-up by manufacturers and qualified specialists.

THE CMSG-RS FRAMEWORK

Six research workflows.
A traceable evidence record.

A proposed research method, not an accredited standard or supplier certification.

01

Public evidence research

Collect permitted public reports, policies and facility references with source links, dates and scope.

View in pilot
02

Mineral-specific profiles

Organize manufacturers, component suppliers and processors by mineral, role, product niche and reporting period.

View in pilot
03

Relationship mapping

Record evidenced upstream connections while distinguishing possible sources from confirmed direct suppliers.

View in pilot
04

Transparent assessment

Apply explicit disclosure criteria. Keep the observed score, evidence coverage and review confidence separate.

View in pilot
05

Peer benchmarking

Compare relevant organizations without treating missing disclosure as failure or small samples as the whole industry.

06

Review and publication

Maintain private research drafts, dated revisions and owner-controlled publication of the evidence.

THE VALIDATION PILOT

Start with the evidence. Build a credible benchmark.

The initial research pilot groups manufacturers and upstream organizations by tantalum or tungsten exposure, supply-chain role and reporting period. It uses public sources and does not require a manufacturer to become a client. The first module assesses responsible-sourcing disclosure; broader industry criteria need further development.

  1. Collect

Identify public reports, preserve citations and define mineral and role-specific research groups.

    Week 1
  2. Assess

Record criterion-level evidence, disclosure gaps, confidence and precisely qualified upstream links.

    Weeks 2–3
  3. Compare

Test peer definitions, scoring gates, reproducibility and the effect of incomplete evidence.

    Weeks 4–5
  4. Review

Seek specialist and manufacturer feedback; revise the method and publish a dated research release.

    Week 6

PILOT OUTPUTS

Evidence that the work happened.

BUILT AT THE GOVERNANCE LAYER

Rigorous where manufacturers need clarity. Disciplined about where specialists belong.

Highbrow Group works at the intersection of business operations, supplier governance, contracting, responsible-sourcing evidence, and implementation. CMSG-RS does not substitute for geology, mine engineering, laboratory testing, certification, independent audits, sanctions clearance, or foreign-law advice. Those matters are referred to qualified specialists when the workflow requires them.
