The research method
Six workflows. A traceable evidence record.
CMMS-BS is Highbrow's proposed research method. It makes the source, scope and limitations of a comparison visible; it is not an accredited standard or a supplier certification.
Public evidence research
Collect permitted public reports, policies and facility references with source links, dates and scope.
Mineral-specific profiles
Organize manufacturers, component suppliers and processors by mineral, role, product niche and reporting period.
Relationship mapping
Record evidenced upstream connections while distinguishing possible sources from confirmed direct suppliers.
Transparent assessment
Apply explicit disclosure criteria. Keep the observed score, evidence coverage and review confidence separate.
Peer benchmarking
Compare relevant organizations without treating missing disclosure as failure or small samples as the whole industry.
Review and publication
Maintain private research drafts, dated revisions and owner-controlled publication of the evidence.
The benchmark build cycle
Keep each research question bounded.
- 01
Define
Choose a mineral, supply-chain role, product niche, geography and reporting period.
- 02
Collect
Gather permitted public evidence, preserve citations and qualify upstream relationships.
- 03
Benchmark
Apply explicit criteria while separating observed score, coverage and review confidence.
- 04
Validate
Test decision usefulness with manufacturers, specialists and strategic beta partners. Record findings and revise the method.
Read the score alongside its limits.
A disclosure band describes documented disclosure within a specified scope. Missing information remains unknown. Possible upstream connections are not confirmed direct procurement routes, and a small cohort does not represent an industry.
Overall supplier-risk ratings and independent validation remain unestablished. The pilot's method section contains the detailed criteria, publication thresholds, risk-domain boundaries and correction process.
